Advantages of using fax services

September 25, 2007

Sending faxes through a fax service  offers time-saving benefits. The following features are provided to enhance your faxing experience:

Mixed recipient You can send your fax to an e-mail address or a standard fax machine, and to as many recipients as you want.
Multiple documents You can attach multiple documents that include a large number of pages and send the fax as one package.
Electronic faxes Some fax providers offer a fax phone number for your use, which enables the delivery of the fax to your Inbox as a TIFF attachment. When you receive a fax, you can view, print, or add comments to it. The MODI program opens the online fax and provides the editing capabilities. You can also send the fax to someone else or back to the original party.
Offline scenario You can compose a fax and send it when disconnected. Similar to e-mail, the fax will be stored in the Outbox and will be sent when you connect to the network.
Archives Sent faxes are stored in the Outlook Sent Items folder or in a place specified by Outlook rules.

How Fax Embraces the Net

“RingCentral Fax takes advantage of the Internet infrastructure and gives users a low-cost alternative to the traditional telephone network for long distance faxing. It uses the Internet as a medium to transport faxes to traditional fax machines or computers equipped with a fax modem that are not directly connected to the Internet. We fax through the Internet with the same level of reliability, security, immediacy and point-to-point connectivity that users get when faxing over a telephone line.”

Announced new fax capabilities and the new RingMe function

September 11, 2007

The new FaxOut capability allows users to send faxes from the RingCentral portal, even if their RingCentral call controller is not installed on their computer. The company also introduced Fax from e-mail, an alternative to FaxOut that enables RingCentral customers to send a fax from any e-mail account or accessible device and from any location.

With RingMe, customers get an embedded “button” that can be put on their Web sites or in e-mail signatures. When a customer or Web visitor wants to contact the RingCentral subscriber, all they have to do is push the RingMe button, and the system will initiate a customer service call and call out to both parties.
